Tea Time: Drinks to Keep you Awake and Refreshed
Delicious drinks for the non-coffee drinkers
If you are like Katy, you need a healthy dose of caffeine to get your engine running in the morning and keep it going throughout the day. She is not a big coffee drinker but, instead, enjoys black tea. However, not all teas are created equal and many contain nasty chemicals and toxins. Also, some just taste better than others. Below is a list of her favorite teas and drinks to get her through her day.
Mighty Leaf Organic Breakfast Tea - Organic and Fair trade, this blend of black tea comes from Assam and Nilgiri teas from India. This tea also has added an East African Rwanda tea for a more complex flavor profile.
Numi Organic Breakfast Blend- This tea is a more complex blend of organic teas such as Assam, Ceylon, Chinese Keemun and Darjeeling. It is a great blend to enjoy first thing in the morning.
Pumpkin Spice Tea- Bring on the fall, y’all! Just because you don’t drink coffee doesn’t mean you can’t join in on the pumpkin spice game. This tea is great when you just want to curl up in a warm blanket and read a great book.
Cozy Caramel Roobios - This delish tea is sweet and creamy with the added benefit that it is caffeine free! You can enjoy rooibos day or night.
If tea is not your thing but you really want a mid-day pick me up, another of Katy’s favorites is Amazing Grass Green Superfood Lemon-Lime Energy powder. Not only does this blend of greens provide one serving of vegetables, you also get a healthy kick of energy from the Yerba Mate & Matcha Green Tea. This natural caffeine blend is equivalent to drinking about one cup of coffee. The added bonus is you aren’t left with the horrible half life of caffeine from drinking coffee or tea, so Katy sometimes will drink this after three pm for an added energy boost to get her through the hectic dinner, bath, and bedtime routines, and she can still fall asleep when its her bedtime.
Another favorite mid-day refreshing drink is Vital Proteins Collagen Beauty Glow in Lavender Lemon. We are stepping up our beauty routines with this delish blend of marine-based collagen peptides, hyaluronic acid, and probiotics. They even added in a daily dose of vitamin C and biotin. Add the powder and stir, shake, stir…soon you’ll be sipping yourself into more radiant skin and hair.
