New YA Books Coming in August

Our book shelves are practically bursting at the seams, but we can always make room for more. Seriously, you can never have too many books, especially if your goal is to make every student an avid reader. 2022 has been a banner year for great books with wide appeal to middle school students to add to my classroom library, and the year is not over. I am eagerly awaiting these books to add to my classroom library:

Coming In August:

Empty Smiles (Small Spaces Quartet) by Katherine Arden (August 9)

This is the 4th book in the popular Small Spaces series. R.L. Stine himself said the first book in the series is “Terrifying and fun.” I assure you that the other books in the series follow in those footsteps. This is going to be a very popular addition to your horror shelves.

12 to 22: POV You Wake Up in the Future! By Jen Calonita (August 16)

Tween readers will be wild about all of the social media success that Harper has, and hopefully take away a little life lesson as well.

Ravenfall by Kalyn Josephson (August 30)

A spooky, fun adventure filled with magical creatures and mystery, with a truly sinister antagonist.

The Final Gambit by Jennifer Lynn Barnes (August 30)

As the trilogy wraps up, Avery and the Hawthorne brothers are drawn into a dangerous game against an unknown and powerful player. This promises to be quite the page turner!
