Using Directed Drawing Personality Tests to Boost Student Engagement in the Classroom
Directed drawings are fun for any age. Seriously.
I know that directed drawings are geared towards preschool and kindergartners to teach following directions and pay close attention to details while also improving fine motor skills, but they can be super engaging for any age group when it focuses on who we are subconsciously. Who doesn’t love a hidden window into the subconscious?
I’ll prove that any age group would love a directed drawing personality test. We had a staff meeting once where our principal had the staff do a personality directed drawing, and everyone was into it! This was rare because everyone dreaded going to his staff meetings. I think the real reason people were into this activity was because it was about themselves, and everyone loves it when the focus is on them.
There are a lot of directed drawing personality tests out on the web. So, we put a few lessons together in our Teachers Pay Teachers store, and they are selling like hotcakes right now. Be sure to check them out along with some of our other fun icebreaker activities like meme it, this or that, and written get to know you questions. It doesn’t matter the age, people love it when you ask questions about what they are into. They just do.
