CORE Brand 9-Person Cabin Tent Review

I am a big time camper. I love camping. I really do. But, one thing I loathe about camping is the set up and take down of our tent. After a long drive, the last thing I want to do is set up my camping spot. I want to be relaxing by the lake immediately. So, when I found out that there are tents that take less than a minute to set up, my interest was piqued. Anything that helps me to get to that lake faster is a win in my book.

After a lot of research, my husband and I found the CORE brand nine person instant pop up cabin tent. With over 3,700 reviews on Amazon and an overall 4.5 star ranking, we thought we would give this tent a try. It is not the cheapest tent we have ever purchased. It retails for $259.99 on Amazon. But, if it delivered what it promised, we were okay with the price tag. The CORE website boasts, “This nine person instant cabin tent features stress-free setup in 60 seconds! The poles are pre-attached to the tent - just unpack, unfold, and extend.”

Well, it did take us longer than 60 seconds to set the tent up. However, it was no longer than two minutes. Also, as an added bonus, it could be put up and taken down by one person! Gone are the days of fitting poles together, sliding those poles into the tent fabric, clipping tent poles to tent fabric, and then bending those poles until a tent shape emerged…all in the blasting summer sun.

Taking down the tent was a bit more complicated than putting it up. However, once we figured it out, we had it collapsed, folded up, and in the bag in under eight minutes. Next time, it will be even faster now that we know how to do it.

Overall, this tent gets a 4.5 star review from us. It is plenty spacious for my husband, myself, and our five-year-old. We were able to fit a queen size and twin size air mattress side by side width-wise across the tent. We also had plenty of room left over for our clothing and space to just hang out if, and when, we needed some space.

If you are camping outside of the summer months, this tent may be a bit chilly. The whole top of the tent is a mesh material, and you will need to add the rain tarp to keep the cold night air out. However, during the summer months, it is a perfect tent.

So, if you're in the market for a new tent, and you want one that is moderately priced and crazy easy to set up - give this tent a try. You will not be disappointed!

Happy Camping!
