My Favorite 5-minute Makeup Routine that Won’t Break the Bank

I am very efficient in the mornings. I like some quiet, “me time” that does not involve getting ready or doing my hair. I make life easier by preplanning all of my outfits, if not the week before, at least the night before. My clothes are laid out and waiting for me in the morning.

I don’t wear a ton of makeup to work, and I barely wear any on the weekends and on vacation. I am a true believer in the power of a great sunscreen, other than that, I might be wearing a lip balm and some mascara on my days off. When at work, I have a very simple list of my go-to makeup favorites that I return to again and again.

I like to start with a sunscreen base or a tinted sunscreen. Next, I put on a cream blush and then use a brow gel to give my brows a bit of definition. My poor brows definitely suffered during the 1990s craze of plucking them to a thin tiny line of nonexistence, and while they have grown out a bit, my beautiful thick brows I was born with never fully recovered. Then, on goes a quick brush of color to my eyelids…usually in neutral tone, some tinted mineral powder, a dash of mascara on my top lashes, tinted lip balm….and that’s it! I call it my five minute face…but usually it takes a grand total of three minutes - I know this because I timed myself. If you want to try out any of my favorite products, I have added links below.
